Palmerston Association is seeking a part time Aboriginal Diversion Officer for their South Metro Community Alcohol and Drug Service based in Mandurah.
Palmerston Association is a leading and respected not for profit provider of alcohol and other drug services.
The role offers information and support to people who have been in contact with the justice system. The successful applicant will have the ability to work with people in regard to alcohol or other drugs. A strong sense of connection with the Aboriginal community is essential, along with good communication and yarning skills.
The position involves encouraging eligible people to consider the alcohol and other drug court diversion program, liaising with court staff, conducting assessments for the program and following up with clients.
Aboriginality is a genuine qualification for this position (section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act 1984).
The pay Level for this role is equivalent to Level 4 – Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
