Wheatbelt Health Network: Project Officer Indigenous Health

The Wheatbelt Health Network is seeking a Project Officer Indigenous Health for a part time role based in Northam.

This is a leadership role working closely with the Integrated Team Care (ITC) Coordinator and team aiming to improve health outcomes of Indigenous Australians in the contracted region. This is a non-clinical role, working 22.5 hours per week. 

Key activities include:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the capacity of mainstream GP services to deliver culturally appropriate care to First Nations patients

  • Provide co-leadership to the ITC team including guidance and strategic direction to the team

  • Play an advocacy role for First Nations patients to increase uptake of health assessments (715), GP management plans for early diagnosis and management of chronic disease.
