DBCA: Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is seeking an Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator for the Regional Fire Management Services Division.

The Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator works in collaboration with the Aboriginal Engagement, Planning and Lands Branch to provide leadership in building a working relationship between the department and the Regional Aboriginal Corporations, ensures that Cooperative Management Committees are established, and Cooperative Management Agreements are implemented, and Joint Management Agreements are established and implemented; as per the Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA).

The role also ensures Aboriginal Noongar aspirations for protecting cultural and heritage values, economic development, employment strategies and customary activities and land access are promoted.

It’s a permanent full-time position, based in Crawley. The annual salary range is between $96,307 - $105,254 plus super (PSCA Level 5).

Aboriginality is preferred for this position (refer Section 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), as amended). Aboriginal applicants who meet the selection criteria will be prioritised for appointment.
