AHCWA: Principal Policy Officer and Executive Assistant

The Aboriginal Health Council of WA (AHCWA) is recruiting for a Principal Policy Officer and an Executive Assistant.

AHCWA is the peak body for Aboriginal health in Western Australia, working to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people and their communities.

Principal Policy Officer

The role is responsible for supporting the management of AHCWA's key advocacy priorities, and provide leadership to other members of the team to determine best practices to policy advocacy across a variety of topics.

You will be actively thinking about how to participate with and advocate on behalf of Member Services' priorities and ambitions, as well as respond to changes in the Aboriginal health agenda to ensure the core principles and needs of the Sector are considered.

The position involves working within a multicultural organisation where the majority of workplace participants, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

It’s a full-time position based in Perth, fixed-term until 30 June 2025. The annual salary is $112,403 to $124,892 plus superannuation and generous salary packaging options.

Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant will provide high-level executive and administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation of the office, including screening phone calls and enquiries, greeting visitors, and managing meeting logistics including agendas and minutes.

The role involves drafting responses, creating and managing documents, and coordinating travel arrangements. The Executive Assistant will assist in preparing reports and submissions, maintain a confidential executive filing system, and uphold office systems, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency.

It’s a permanent full-time position, based in Perth. The annual salary is $74,935 to $79,931 plus superannuation and generous salary packaging options.
