Communicare: Aboriginal Cultural Specialist

Communicare is seeking an Aboriginal Cultural Specialist to join the Breathing Space team a dedicated residential men’s behaviour change program striving to foster safer environments for women, children, and men across Western Australia.

The Aboriginal Cultural Specialist will provide cultural advice and support to Breathing Space staff and cultural workshops, healing and connection to program participants. The position will ensure all service delivery is culturally appropriate and that Aboriginal ways of working is at the forefront of service delivery with Aboriginal men who choose to use violence and abuse.

The Aboriginal Cultural Specialist provides support and guidance to Breathing Space staff based at both Calista and Maylands residential service sites, to ensure a culturally safe service is provided to maximise the safety of victim-survivors and their children.

This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis working 76 hours a fortnight. Travel between Maylands and Calista sites will be required.

Under Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, Aboriginality is a genuine requirement for this position.

The annual salary for this role is $97,000–$101,000 plus superannuation and salary packaging.
