DBCA: Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is seeking an Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator.

The Aboriginal Engagement, Planning and Lands Branch will:

  • Assist in facilitating an effective and positive relationship between the Department and the Aboriginal Regional Corporations (RCs).

  • Contribute to the implementation of Cooperative Management Agreements and the establishment and implementation of Joint Management Agreements; as per the Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA).

  • Ensure Aboriginal engagement in advising and informing high level strategic policy associated with the management of all conservation estate (including State forest) within the ILUA Agreement Area, so that Noongar interests regarding cultural and heritage values, economic development, employment strategies and customary activities and land access are promoted.

It’s a permanent full time role, based in Bunbury. The annual salary range is $96,307 - $105,254.
