SWALSC is reviewing corporate records relating to the purchase by Equity Trustees
The South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council (SWALSC) is aware of the comments made by Equity Trustees regarding the recent sale of the El Caballo Lifestyle Village, which was purchased with funds from the Noongar Charitable Trust.
SWALSC has been undertaking a thorough review of its corporate records to source evidence and documentation relating to this purchase.
This process commenced under the leadership of previous Chair, Brendan Moore.
During the period of this investigation, the SWALSC board was unable to make comment about the purchase of the property.
While SWALSC’s review is ongoing, investigations to date have not identified:
Any resolution that the SWALSC board requested or supported the purchase of the El Caballo Resort and the El Caballo Lifestyle Village.
Any resolution of the SWALSC board supporting the running of any program or activity at the El Caballo Resort and the El Caballo Lifestyle Village.
Any agreement or memorandum with Equity Trustees with SWALSC to support programs at the El Caballo Resort and the El Caballo Lifestyle Village.
SWALSC is assisting the Western Australian Charitable Trusts Commission with an investigation into Equity Trustees’ purchase.
