2022 Indigenous VET Study Scholarships
Newmont Boddington Gold (NBG) is offering six $500 study costs scholarships. The study scholarships will be awarded to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders preferably from the local Wilman Traditional Owner (TO), Gnaala Karla Booja (GKB) Native Title Claimant Group and/or Noongar Aboriginal people who are enrolled in South Metropolitan TAFE (SM TAFE) courses.

Newmont Boddington Gold (NBG) is offering two pre-apprenticeship scholarship opportunities in qualifications linked to priority trade areas in NBG’s annual apprenticeship program intake.
The scholarships will be awarded to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders preferably from the local Wilman Traditional Owner (TO), Gnaala Karla Booja (GKB) Native Title Claimant Group and/or Noongar Aboriginal people who are enrolled or applying for entry into the identified South Metropolitan TAFE (SM TAFE) pre-apprenticeship pathways.
Gnaala Work Ready Program 2022
Do you belong to the Gnaala Karla Booja Native Title Claimant Group or the broader Noongar population? Are you ready to explore mining as a career? The Australian Indigenous Business Alliance Group has been engaged by Newmont Boddington to recruit 10 participants for the 2022 Gnaala Work Ready Program with a focus on long term, sustainable employment opportunities and career pathways for Aboriginal employees.
The program runs for 12 weeks commencing at the start of August, with participants completing Certificate II – Resource Infrastructure Work Preparation. At the completion of the program, successful graduates will have the opportunity to transfer to fulltime trainee positions on site.
The 2022 trainee positions are:-
Mine maintenance - 2 x Trade Assistants - 2 x Vac Truck Operator - 1 x Admin
Process Operations and Maintenance - 2 x Process Utility Hands -2 x Trade Assistants
Tech Services- 1 x Pit Technician
