Parkerville Children and Youth Care: Aboriginal Family and Cultural Engagement Officer

Parkerville Children and Youth Care is recruiting for an Aboriginal Family and Cultural Engagement Officer.

The Aboriginal Family and Cultural Engagement Officer will work hands-on with Aboriginal children and young people in the Our Way Home Program, supporting their cultural identity and connection to family, community, and Country.

This role will assist in developing and implementing Cultural Enhancement Plans, working closely with carers and families to ensure culturally safe and responsive practices. Under the guidance of the Cultural Lead, the officer will coach carers, attend care teams, and facilitate culturally safe family engagement, including supervised contact sessions when needed.

The role also supports return to-country trips and ensures the voices of Aboriginal families and children are heard and respected in care planning and decision-making.

This role is offered on a full-time basis, based at the Armadale office, with responsibilities across all OWH service locations. It may also involve some weekend and evening work.
