SWAMS: Birthing on Country Practitioner

The South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) is seeking two Birthing on Country Practitioners for full time roles based in Bunbury.

Birthing on Country Practitioners are the cultural lead working collaboratively with Midwives to deliver evidence based and culturally appropriate individual clinical services, group health promotion, education and illness prevention activities to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, their partners, and families during the antenatal, intrapartum and post-natal period in the hospital and community setting.

This will include engaging with local service providers to support the development of culturally acceptable hospital and community based maternal and infant health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, their partners and families.

SWAMS is looking for someone of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island Descent for this position.
