Department of Education: Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer

Parkwood and Bannister Creek Primary Schools are seeking an Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer to work across both school campuses.

This is a full time position shared at 0.4 FTE with Parkwood Primary School, and 0.6 FTE at Banister Creek.

The Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for Indigenous students. As a liaison between the schools and community, the role works closely with teachers, students and families to develop culturally relevant educational programs that empower Indigenous students to reach their full potential.

The successful applicant would ideally have a good understanding of Noongar language and culture and would be prepared to complete the Noongar Language Program training.
