Seeking Noongar artists to exhibit at the AIATSIS Summit

The AIATSIS Summit is seen as the most significant conference in the country for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organisations in the native title and Indigenous research space, bringing together over 1 000 delegates including Indigenous leaders, academics, and policymakers from around the country.

The Summit will be co-convened between AIATSIS and the South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council (SWALSC) with the Noongar Traditional Owners as the co-host on Noongar boodja (country) at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 5 to 9 June 2023.

We are seeking Noongar artists to participate in the cultural program and to exhibit at the Summit, including digital, visual, print and sculptural artwork.

In addition, we’re seeking dedicated young artists to produce digital art that can be used as a component of the AIATSIS Summit Youth Forum.

There will also be the opportunity to sell artworks through participation in a trade fair that may include clothing and jewellery, as well as an opportunity to exhibit other Noongar products.

Expressions of interest are to include your name, contact details and pictures or videos of your artwork for consideration and selection by the Cultural Program Committee. Artists biography and any descriptions of the artwork would also be beneficial for the Cultural Program Committee.
